ABFO 2019 National Conference Announces Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor to Open Conference

BOSTON, May 28, 2019 – The Association of Bioscience Financial Officers (ABFO), a national networking group for biotechnology, med tech and bioscience financial officers, today announced that Karyn Polito, Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor, will open the conference on Wednesday, May 29. The event will be held May 28-31 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston. 

“ABFO’s mission focuses on facilitating networking opportunities by bringing together leaders in the bioscience space,” said Justin Renz, ABFO Conference Chairman, President and CFO of Correvio Pharmaceuticals Corp. “Lt. Governor Polito mirrors ABFO’s goals and truly understands the importance of working with a myriad of people to accomplish great things. We look forward to having her kick off the conference.” 

Karyn Polito was sworn in for a second term as the 72nd Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on Jan. 3, 2019. In her first term, Lt. Governor Polito focused on moving Massachusetts forward through bipartisan, results-driven leadership. Motivated by a fundamental belief that success is determined by the strength of a diverse expanse of people, Lt. Governor Polito partnered with leadership in all 351 of the Commonwealth’s cities and towns, developing close relationships with local political figures. Lt. Governor Polito also emphasizes the importance of collaborating on community projects, inspiring students to get involved in STEM opportunities, combatting domestic violence and encouraging the development of affordable housing.
