Controllers, Accounting Executives, Investor Relations Representatives and CFOs to Present Bioscience Technology Briefing on May 29 - June 1 at Hotel Nikko in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, May 10, 2018 – As the Association of Bioscience Financial Officers (ABFO) kicks off its 30th Year Celebration with the 2018 National Conference in San Francisco later this month, discussions will revolve around the essentials for the bioscience financial officer. The meeting is expected to draw as many as 200 financial executives with U.S. companies that focus on the development of drugs, medical devices and diagnostics.
"ABFO conferences have always been a great learning experience for both myself and my staff,” said Martyn Webster, CFO, Vital Connect. “Whether it is the macro-view, the deep insights into areas that I hadn't previously experienced or just the opportunity to learn from other delegates in the incredibly collaborative break-out sessions, this event has consistently proven itself the friendliest, most social and most relevant conference of the year."
The 2018 program is comprised of several keynote presentations from high-profile individuals, including Bill Driscoll, Navy Flying Ace, “Peak Performance Under Pressure”; Enrique M. Alvarez, Cyber Branch, San Francisco FBI Field Office; Joe Quinlan, Managing Director & Chief Market Strategist, U.S. Trust, Bank of America, Private Wealth Management; and Cara Hale Alter, "The Credibility Code," Founder, SpeechSkills. Rounding out the line-up is Solomon Wilcots, NFL Broadcaster, Head, Russo Partners' Sports-Health Alliance.
Mark Kaufmann, CFO, Ardelyx, added: “The ABFO annual conference is an amazing place to meet other finance and accounting executives who are experiencing the same specific biotech issues as me: clinical trial accruals, revenue recognition for R&D agreements, equity and alternative financing, finding the best service vendors and many other subjects.”
Breakout sessions, roundtable discussions and panel presentations are led by industry experts and designed to generate discussion and equip participants with practical information for use in their finance roles. Topics range from the convergence of science and technology to business issues at each stage of a company's development. Click here to see the complete conference program.
